The Alliance of Industrial Internet (AII) and the 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate and build a successful global ecosystem for Intelligent Manufacturing/Industrial Internet, and in particular Industrial wireless communications based on 5G.
AII and 5G-ACIA have initiated the first steps towards a closer collaboration in 2019, when AII was invited as a guest speaker to the 5G-ACIA plenary meeting held in Shanghai, China, in September 2019. Under the now formalized partnership, a number of possible joint activities will be further explored, such as the development and analysis of use cases and requirements, the realization of various testbeds, joint marketing and promotional activities, and the exchange of information and publications.
“I appreciate and am glad to establish further cooperation with 5G-ACIA. AII is an important platform for China’s Industrial Internet development where the application promotion, technology innovation, industry development and international cooperation have been fully encouraged, supported and implemented. The sustained and in-depth cooperation between AII and 5G-ACIA valuably contributes to accelerating the deep application of 5G in vertical industries, and exploring the commercial deployment and business model innovation. We are looking forward to working together with 5G-ACIA on promoting the deep integration and innovation of 5G and Industrial Internet.” said Duo Liu, Chairman of AII, about the collaboration.
Dr. Andreas Müller, Bosch, and Chairman of the 5G-ACIA said: “We are excited and pleased to strengthen our ties with AII and to enter the next stage of our collaboration. The envisaged joint activities will help us build a sustainable global ecosystem for Industrial 5G and to make sure that we can unlock the huge business potential that comes along with it. Being one of the leading organizations for smart manufacturing in China, AII is a perfect partner for 5G-ACIA – which has become the globally leading organization for driving and shaping Industrial 5G over the past two years. 5G-ACIA fosters a close collaboration and exchange between the ICT and the OT industries and therefore we are very much looking forward to lifting Industry 4.0 to the next level together with AII in future.”
About AII
Alliance of Industrial Internet (AII) was established by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) with joint efforts of the industrial sectors, which has formed a “14+13+X” organizational structure by bringing together more than 1600 advanced enterprises and research institutions in the fields of industrial manufacturing, industrial solutions, information and communication, and security. AII has collaborated with its members in many aspects of industrial Internet, such as top-level design, technological research & development, standard development, test bed, industry practice, and international cooperation. By now, AII also published a series of outcomes, including the Industrial Internet white paper, Industrial Internet Platform, Test Bed, Use Case; and got extensively involved in large-scale activities related to Industrial Internet at home and abroad.
About 5G-ACIA
