With the advent of 5G, non-public networks, also known as campus or private networks, have become more common and easier for organizations to obtain and operate independently. In some cases, however, the planning, procurement, and operation of a 5G network by the organization may be unnecessary or unfeasible. In such cases, a service provider can be contracted to manage the network. The service provider may deliver a complete on-site network, provide radio equipment connected to a public network, or enable access to a public network via existing infrastructure. What is handled in terms of planning and setting up the network will depend on the service provider. Some providers cover all aspects, including planning, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. Others may only handle selected parts of the process.
