The following data protection declaration applies to the use of the website. This website is an offer of the ZVEI e. V. – Verband der Elektro- und Digitalindustrie. (German Electro and Digital Industry Association), Lyoner Strasse 9, 60528 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (hereinafter: “ZVEI”).
Like every website, our server automatically and temporarily collects and saves the following information in the server logfiles, which is transmitted by your browser unless you have deactivated this function:
- IP address of the querying computer,
- file enquiry by the client,
- the http response code,
- the internet site, from which you are visiting us (referrer URL),
- date and time of access,
- browser type and version, and
- operating system used on the querying computer.
A person-specific evaluation of the server logfile is not performed. At no time are we able to attribute this data to specific or identifiable individuals. This data is not merged or combined with other data sources.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 f DSGVO.
All data will only be processed on the basis of and within the scope of your consent.
If you provide us with personal data by e-mail and/or contact form (in particular name, e-mail address or telephone number), this is generally on a purely voluntary basis.
These data are used exclusively for specific purposes, such as the necessary communication, for processing your enquiries, processing the contractual relationship or your orders, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 a,b DSGVO. There will be no further use.
The passive use of our offer is anonymously possible.
MyZVEI
If you wish to use the MyZVEI function, you must register and agree to the privacy policy regulations. For this purpose, the user creates a user profile (e-mail and password), but the user can also enter a title and/or his or her full name.
The data will only be used for the following purposes: Login, contact by e-mail and display in the header of the personalized page. Personal filter settings are also saved in the profile: topics, trade associations, keywords.

Newsletter
With your consent according to art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about our current offers.
For the registration to our newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after your registration we will send you an e-mail to the specified e-mail address in which we ask you to confirm that you would like the newsletter to be sent. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information will be blocked and automatically deleted after one month.
In addition, we store your IP addresses and the time of registration and confirmation. The purpose of the procedure is to be able to prove your registration and, if necessary, to clarify a possible misuse of your personal data.
Only your name and e-mail address are required for sending the newsletter. The indication of further, separately marked data is voluntary and is used to be able to address you personally. After your confirmation we will save your e-mail address for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time free of charge via the link provided in the newsletter.
Registration for events
If you register via this website or partner sites, we collect and process your data exclusively for the organisation of the event. Further details are specified in the data protection declaration of the event. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 a,b DSGVO.
Application process
We process personal data about you for the purpose of your application for employment to the extent necessary in order to decide whether to enter into an employment relationship with us. The legal basis is § 26 para. 1 BDSG.
Furthermore, we may process personal data about you to the extent necessary to defend against legal claims asserted against us in the application process. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 f DSGVO; the legitimate interest is, for example, a duty to provide evidence in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz – AGG).
If we wish to store your personal data in order to take you into account for future positions you may be interested in, we will obtain your separate consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO.
Your data will only be passed on within the ZVEI and only to persons who are directly involved with the application. Your data will not be passed on to persons or positions outside the ZVEI.
If an employment relationship is not established between you and us, the application documents will be deleted six months after notification of the rejection decision. If the storage is based on your consent, we will store your personal data until you revoke your consent.
Your data will not be passed on to external third parties without separate consent.
If service providers are used in individual cases, we ensure through contracts and controls that the data security and data protection of the service providers are guaranteed.
These include the following categories of contractors: Identification service providers, software developers, server hosters, newsletter senders, customer support, web analytics services.
Facebook “Share button”
On our pages the function “share” of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA is integrated. You can recognize the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “Share” button on our site. An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.
The “Share button” allows people to share content with specific friends or groups on Facebook. Alternatively, you can also share them in a private message.
If you activate the plugin by clicking on it, a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server is established via the plugin. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Share button” while logged in to your Facebook account, you can link to content from our pages in your Facebook profile.

Embedded YouTube videos
On some of our websites we embed YouTube videos. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA is the operator of the corresponding plug-ins. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to Youtube servers is established. Youtube will be informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your Youtube account, Youtube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.
If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to reckon with such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. Youtube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the saving of cookies in your browser.

The legal basis for the use of the plugins is Art. 6 para. 1 a and f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the optimization of our online services and the simplification of communication with our customers.
Our channels on social networks
We operate channels on various social platforms in order to communicate directly with our customers and inform them about interesting news from our organization.
We process the data of the visitors of our channels, in particular information about user interactions (e.g. likes, comments, retweets), demographic and statistical data as well as the data transmitted to us in the context of news and comments.
We would like to point out that when using these social networks, the respective providers also have access to your data. This data can be used for market research and advertising purposes. We have no further knowledge of the data processing by the providers of the relevant social platforms.
The processing of personal data of visitors to our online presence is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring communication with our customers and informing them about news related to our products.
We would also like to point out that the data processed when using social platforms and networks may possibly be processed outside the European economic area. The operators of the networks on which we operate a channel are certified according to the EU/US Privacy Shield.
