The main booth of the global alliance 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) is the meeting point for everyone who wants to obtain authoritative information and exchange ideas about
Industrial 5G.
technology (ICT) are also present. Supported by live 5G demonstrators, they illustrate the latest developments across the full range of 5G-related topics and provide comprehensive information on this technology.
Topic Areas
Non-Public Network Solutions
In contrast to a network that offers mobile network services to the general public, a 5G non-public network (NPN) provides 5G network services to a clearly defined user organization or group of organizations. You too can create your own 5G NPN solution!
Integration in Production Systems
5G is easy to integrate in a pre-existing infrastructure. Doing so opens the door to optimizing operations in the future. Explore future possibilities for connectivity and create an ideal integration scenario with Industrial 5G!
Industrial-Grade QoS
This area provides an overview of how 5G quality of service (QoS) can support the implementation of industrial applications. Step into the future with industrial grade 5G quality of service solutions!

Abstract:
Wireless communication, and 5G in particular, is essential for the Smart Factory and more generally for Industry 4.0, since it enables seamless, pervasive, and scalable connectivity among machines, people, and sensors and with mobile entities such as mobile robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and drones. In many cases, 5G also makes it possible to reduce or even eliminate cables from stationary, rotating, and other objects with limited mobility. In this panel discussion, the general chairs of the 5G-Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) insightfully describe where we are now on the road to Industrial 5G. |
Abstract:
Support for industrial-grade communication service is a basic requirement for deterministic communication in complex I4.0 production systems. Distributed industrial applications depend on the underlying communication system to provide capabilities that meet the corresponding requirements. Industrial 5G is designed with such capabilities for industrial applications in both discrete manufacturing and the process industry. The 5G-Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) is the globally Leading organization for shaping Industrial 5G. This presentation goes into depth on the latest developments in Industrial 5G, covering the concept of non-public networks (also call private networks), 5G supports quality of service (QoS), and techniques for integrating 5G on the shop floor, e.g. TSN and digital twins. |
Abstract:
While consumer 5G has already been rolled out globally, Industrial 5G is still in the early adoption stage, especially for demanding industrial automation applications. Join this session to hear industry experts’ latest insights on the challenges and opportunities of Industrial 5G going forward. The panel consists of experts who represent the emerging Industrial 5G ecosystem. They will provide exciting insights into the key activities from their associations and forums, timelines, and experience fostering the wider market adoption of Industrial 5G. The success of Industrial 5G depends on close cooperation across domains, and especially on tackling the key challenges for integrating Industrial 5G along the legacy industry value chain. The panel will also shed light on how Industrial 5G capabilities can decisively digitize the factories of the future and accelerate the implementation of Industry 4.0. |
